I remember that I enjoyed sketching this one because I got a chance to figure out how to place all of those ropes hanging on his head. There are still times when I love the idea of figuring out details like that. When I saw this old and strong African man I just felt like he was either a chief or at least a "Tribal Elder in the clan. I could feel the wisdom of all the years he had been in his Ethiopian tribe. The color combinations in this painting leaves you several matting and framing options to match the décor in your home.
