If you are like me, a slice of melon on a hot summer day just hits the spot. One day the thought of a child taking a bite out of a big piece of watermelon popped in my mind so I went to the store and got the biggest one I could find, sliced it up and gave the girls each a slice and got my camera. "The Big Slice" is just one of the paintings that came out of a series of sketches I did from those photos. The color combinations in this painting leaves you several matting and framing options to match the décor in your home.
