Welcome to Edward Wade's site. We are glad you stopped by.
In Ed's efforts to always improve, a lot of practice takes place in the studio. His goal is to produce work that you can appreciate. He often wonders about what would look good on a wall and which new colors will look good together.
Putting a piece of art on your wall is a big decision because it's probably going to be there for a long time and he knows that color and topic are strong considerations. Edward loves to vary his colors from painting to painting and his subject can be anything that moves him.
Lately his focus has been on the African people and their cultures, especially the face and body decorations.
Ed was born in 1956 and was raised in Milwaukee. He studied the graphic arts at Oshkosh university. Ed recently moved back to Milwaukee from Marianna, Arkansas with 4 daughters, and 3 sons by marriage with 6 grand children.
Ed's passion for drawing dates back to as early as 3 years old and he's never stopped. He really loves watercolors and uses a variety of palettes to create diverse color schemes in his work. He paints from life and his subject matter can be children, trees, people, landscapes, barns, animals, flowers or whatever moves him.
Ed also works in pen and ink, graphite, and plays with a little creative digital photography.
Shapes and color have become very important in later years. The subject does not really matter as long as the shapes are good, that’s why there is such a diversity in Ed’s work.
He has been working almost exclusively in watercolors since 1987.
Ed was a pastor for 19 years in Arkansas and is currently a pastor at Epikos church in Milwaukee.
